An Overview
Scoliosis is a curvature of the spine that occurs most often during a patient's growth spurt, usually right before puberty. A spine with scoliosis usually has a few different curves that even out to form an “S” shape, and the patient’s spine is also usually rotated. While most cases are mild and unnoticeable, some cases can be severe enough to require a scoliosis brace. There are different types of scoliosis braces, but most look similar to the following:
